
International Hoops: AUC Women’s Basketball Coach Represents Egypt at NBA Training Camp
In late August, Egypt became a temporary home for current and former basketball legends, as the country held, for the first time, the NBA and International Basketball Federation (FIBA)’s Basketball Without Borders camp.

AUC Athletes Among Top Performers in 49th National Universities Tournament
AUC athletes have returned to campus stronger than ever, winning three gold, fourteen silver and two bronze medals in the ongoing 49th National Universities Tournament, which kicked off in November and includes athletes from over 50 universities in Egypt.

Meet the Tokyo 2020 AUC Olympians
After being postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games are currently taking place, and AUC is leaving its mark halfway across the world. 5th Sector Tournament and the National Track and Field Tournament for Universities
AUC recently competed in the outdoor 5th Sector Tournament and the National Track and Field Tournament for Universities. The AUC Eagles’ football team and swim team achieved second place in the 5th Sector Tournament, and athlete Jude Maher achieved second place in the Hurdles event of the National Track and Field Tournament for Universities. We are proud of our athletes, who succeeded in bringing home medals, and who had managed to shake off rust from lack of play due to the pandemic. Go Eagles!
Back on Track Spring Run Competition
AUC students and staff gathered at Habtour Stadium earlier this month for a day of friendly competition, physical activity, and fun in the AUC Athletics Department’s Spring Run. Forty participants took part in a day of competitive events, consisting of a run, CrossFit, and yoga, and winners received medals as well as gym memberships at Fithub Egypt, who helped make the event happen. The outdoor event was a chance to safely come together to compete, have fun, and promote a healthy, active lifestyle.
AUC Eagles in Euroijada 2019
AUC's Office of Athletics sent five teams to this year’s Euroijada Sports Tournament held in Berlin. Teams who participated are; men and women’s basketball, men and women’s volleyball, and women’s futsal. The competition was fierce, with over 70 universities participating in all sports in the tournament, but our women’s basketball and futsal teams managed to place 2nd. AUC's office of athletics congratulates the teams who have won and appreciates all the teams who have participated, wishing them the best in their future endeavors.

Our champion Mohamed El-Shenawy just achieved 7th place among 17 competitors around the world in the 2021 World Indoor Rowing Championship. Good Job Shenawy!
AUC Athletics Bids Farewell to Athletic Director Robert Reasso After Two Years of Unparalleled Achievements
AUC's Office of Athletics is sad to bid farewell to Bob Reasso as he resigned to go back to the United States after changing the face of athletics in a short period of time. Reasso started his journey with AUC in Fall 2018 where he immediately started transforming the Office of Athletics into an American style office by creating a brand logo highlighting the Eagle as AUC's mascot.
Another Successful Semester for the Eagles
Fall 2019 was a busy one for AUC Eagles. Starting with sports tryouts that took place from September 8 to September 20, where over 700 AUC students showed up to try out for our 21 sports teams of which 300 athletes were selected. An orientation meeting was held for the new and existing athletes to familiarize them with their coaches, staff, SAAC representatives, and what is expected of them for the semester.

Special Olympics Mini Games at AUC
On October 26, 2019, the Office of Athletics, along with the Student-Athletes Advisory Committee (SAAC), hosted their annual Special Olympics event AUC's sports complex. AUC's Office of Athletics started its relationship with the Special Olympics back in 2014, where AUC sponsors their games by hosting most of their sports events.

The First Ever Eagle Awards Banquet
Eagle Awards Banquet 2018 - 2019 Thursday, May 2, 2019, the Office of Athletics hosted the first Eagles Awards Banquet, which we hope will become an annual tradition here at AUC. We had the opportunity to celebrate the success of our Student-athletes on and off the field for the academic year 2018 – 2019. It was an incredible evening, the students came dressed in their finest, the room was beautiful, and our staff did a tremendous job in refurbishing ARTOC sports court to make it look and feel like an All-American Sports Banquet.

Athletics Recap Fall 2018
The American University in Cairo Athletics Recap for Fall 2018 The American University in Cairo's Office of Athletics sponsored 20 varsity sports teams with 250 athletes both men and women last fall. It was a busy semester for the department and a very exciting one too. Starting with the tryouts on September 5, 2018, then weekly friendly games with universities and clubs all over Egypt including; the Arab Academy for Science Technology and Maritime Transport, The German University in Cairo and Heliopolis club.
